Let a Blanket Box Bring Freshness to Your Bedroom

The parts of your home that get most attention from you, when it comes to decorating and furnishing, are quite often the busiest and most used rooms. Friends, family, and relatives - they all need entertaining in rooms such as the living room or dining room. So it's no wonder that you put so much of your energy, time and money into making those areas as comfortable and attractive as possible. But there is a space in your home that can be neglected as a result- your bedroom.

That is a real shame, as it's one of the few private and calm areas of your house- and a makeover here can make a big difference to the quality of your life. If you can transform your bedroom to be less busy, more comfortable and deeply relaxing, it is quite likely your time spent there will be more productive. And that means better, longer and deeper sleep; and a newly refreshed and energised you. So it is worth thinking how you can make your bedroom a temple to sleep and relaxation.

To start with, you should look at your décor. You should consider replacing anything too busy, bright or clashing in your bedroom. You want to make the floor, curtains and walls balance with one another simply and easily. One approach is to paint the wall a pale near-white tone. That can help to brighten and open your sleeping space, and also provides a neutral back-drop to the rest of your furnishings.

A blanket box or a dressing table will look more comfortable in a room without too much decorative clamour. All of your bedroom furniture should be positioned with ease of access in mind. Think about removing over-large built-in wardrobes, and find another home for the clutter and unworn clothing that fills them. Your room will benefit for the additional floor space, and you will feel less claustrophobic.

If you can replace the storage space with a smaller simpler wardrobe then it will start to feel as if a weight has been lifted. A blanket box can be an excellent way of storing bulky bed linen and soft furnishings- and also provide a useful flat surface adjacent to your bed. It also makes the re-making of your bed a breeze - you will look forward to letting that fresh laundered smell out from the blanket box, as you replenish your bed when it tires.

Remember that your bedroom is the one part of the house where you can relax, and let your guard down. It is a refuge from the day's troubles, and when you treat your bedroom, you are really treating yourself. Just think simple and relaxed when re-imagining your bedroom- and you'll be amazed at the difference it makes to your relationship with sleep.
